Computing at Innsworth Infant School
At Innsworth, we understand the value technology plays not only in supporting the Computing and whole school curriculum but overall in the day-to-day life of our school.
Our computing progression is supplemented by the Purple Mash scheme of work which we follow from EYFS – Year 2. Computing lessons are broken down into weekly units, where we focus on establishing skills and embedding previous concepts. All children are exposed to a unit of online safety annually, as well as consistent reminders throughout the year about the opportunities and dangers which the digital world provides.
We aim to support the children to develop their problem-solving skills and build resilience with tasks, which we hope will then be applied elsewhere across the curriculum. In addition, by offering the children experience with things such as coding, spreadsheets, online communication, databases and animation, we are supporting their readiness for the digital world.
We use Purple Mash to support our computing provision.
